ACIC-CBIT presents the Summer Innovation Boot Camp 2026 — Cohort I, a transformative 11-day residential-style programme held at CBIT Campus, Kokapet, Hyderabad from 27 April to 8 May 2026. Under the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, Government of India, sixty school students from Hyderabad took the full arc from Idea → Prototype → Pitch, working in teams with real tools — robotics, drones, 3D printers, AI workflows, and AR/VR headsets.
The Summer Innovation Boot Camp is ACIC-CBIT's flagship school-level programme, designed to put future-ready technology tools directly into the hands of young innovators and expect them to use those tools, in teams, on real ideas. Cohort I demonstrated:

The Summer Innovation Boot Camp 2026 was formally inaugurated at 9:30 AM in the CBIT Auditorium. The hall was filled with sixty selected students, their parents, faculty mentors, and members of the press. Following the lamp-lighting ceremony, dignitaries delivered keynote addresses on why innovation matters for this generation of young Indians.

Cohort I worked through twelve modules, sequenced so each one fed the next — orientation and entrepreneurship first, then technical modules, then Design Thinking-led problem framing and the prototype build, closing with Financial Literacy and Intellectual Property Rights.
After inauguration, students were oriented on labs, safety protocols, deliverables, and team groupings. By end of day, every student had a team, a handbook, a schedule, and a shared understanding that the boot camp was going to be demanding — and meant to be.
Before touching any equipment, students explored why anyone builds anything. An interactive quiz surfaced assumptions about business, and teams attempted their first Business Model Canvas — an exercise that resurfaced as prototypes took shape.
Delivered by M/s Tejas Automations, students assembled IoT platforms and wired sensors to controllers. Every team left with a working IoT mini-project — a decisive proof that the boot camp's promise of "you will actually build something" was real.
Students moved from plain-language AI explanations into hands-on Prompt Engineering — how to ask the right question, refine answers, and build AI-assisted workflows. Several teams left with AI-powered features for their final prototypes.
Every team 3D-printed at least one prototype part in the Fab Lab. For many students it was the first time they held a physical object they had designed on screen — a genuinely meaningful milestone.
The inflection point. With technical foundations in place, the cohort spent the day empathising, framing problems precisely, and using "How Might We…" to commit to solution directions. From this day, every morning became technical input and every afternoon became prototype build time.
Tejas Automations returned for the Drones module — covering lift and thrust, frame geometry, motor and propeller pairing, and battery safety. Teams ended the day with assembled, calibrated airframes ready for flight.
By the cohort's own account, the most exhilarating day. After simulator time, students moved to live flying in small supervised groups — every team got airborne. By day's end, sixty school students could honestly say they had flown a drone they assembled themselves.
A full-day off-campus visit to T-Works, India's largest prototyping facility. Students toured CNC, sheet-metal, electronics, woodwork, and the broader maker infrastructure — seeing for the first time how a 3D file becomes a finished, testable object. It visibly raised the ambition of their own prototypes.
The consolidation day — CNC, Laser Cutting, AR demo, and VR headset experience in the morning; Prototype Build Time, Pitch Coaching Mini-Clinic, Financial Literacy, and Intellectual Property Rights sessions in the afternoon. Students left knowing not just how to build, but how to fund and protect what they built.
The day the cohort had been working toward from Day 1. Ten teams pitched in two rounds — a strict 4-minute pitch and 3-minute jury Q&A format. A simultaneous Demo Showcase in the foyer let parents, press, and invited guests engage directly with working prototypes. Every student received a Certificate of Participation; top performers received Certificates of Excellence; eligible teams were announced as Prototype Development Fund recipients.
Across 7 future-ready domains — Robotics, IoT, AI, 3D Printing, Drones, AR/VR, and Design Thinking — in just 11 working days.
Every team completed the full Idea → Prototype → Pitch arc and presented a working prototype to a live jury on Day 11.
All 60 students received Certificates of Participation. Top performers received Certificates of Excellence. Eligible teams received Prototype Development Funds.
Every student entered ACIC-CBIT's continued pipeline — GRIP cohort entry, ongoing mentorship, and a named place in Cohort II and alumni programmes.
The end of the boot camp is not the end of the relationship. Every student in Cohort I leaves with a defined set of next steps inside the ACIC-CBIT ecosystem.
The inauguration was reported by five Hyderabad newspapers on the morning of 28 April 2026.
